Chef Luis Vazquez's inspiration for his international cuisine comes from a rich history of family influence. Before he could barely reach the stove he was helping his grandmother cook paellas for the entire family, and by the age of fourteen he was making trays of lasagna for his dad's business.
It was this passion which led him to study at the Universidad del Este in Carolina, Puerto Rico. Over the past thirteen years, Chef Vazquez has had the opportunity to work in some of the most esteemed kitchens such as the Governor's Residence in San Juan, Puerto Rico where he served as the executive chef and hosted the members of Bravo network's television program Top Chef during filming of the season four finale. Chef Vazquez owned and operated his own restaurant, La Parrilla Del Tio Luis in Cidra, Puerto Rico, where he specialized in traditional Latin and American cuisine.
Vazquez brings his Spanish heritage to the dishes at SolToro Tequila Grill, I believe that dishes are like paintings, a combination of life experiences and imagination. T
